This book is about achieving successful business outcomes. Just like an aircraft has a rich dashboard of dials but only a critical few need to be monitored continuously, a well modelled business can be managed successfully using a similar strategy. The author uses a simple but a well-researched STA-Triangle model to achieve this purpose. The core of the STA Model is to help navigate effectively in a rapidly changing business environment. Unlike traditional business studies that use a single lens to define business rules or organisational practices, it uses the combination of space, time and action – and hence abbreviated STA, as the driver of outcomes.
This combination of the fundamental dimensions of space, time and action provide a powerful business strategy framework, where space represents firm’s operational territory hence strengths, time represents market state and operating conditions, hence opportunities, and action represents execution thus mimicking lifecycle. Each axis of the STA triangle is represented by a triad of three atomic states – Space (own, known and unknown), Time (recession, stable and growth) and Action (creation, sustenance and deletion). This gives rise to 27 different space-time-action-strategy combinations, representing a wide range of possible occurrences of business environment, ranging from worst to best. It helps in identifying the lowest minimum or ‘normal’ strategy in each combination.

The revolutionary Unified Space-Time-Action Strategy-Triangles for evaluating business strategies and driving execution for successful outcomes in diverse environments.
-
Integrates generation and selection of strategy from multiple options, quantifiable with the associated degree of risk - Elastic coefficient, into a universal model.
-
Examines a new developing relationship between the producers and the consumers beyond the supply or demand side - the community enabled attitudinal economics that is redefining the doctrines of competitive advantage and its impact on pricing.
-
Closely binds strategy, execution, decision making and inhibitors, and their inter-relationships.
-
Defines transformations accurately - currently extremely diffused, why is it necessary and how to drive it successfully?
-
Combines and extends multi-dimensionally, existing management models and frameworks.

Drawing Drawing on his extensive leadership and business experience, distilling his learning, Alok K Sinha offers wise counsel for leaders, managers and educators for managing business and growth. Through a simple and an impactful organising framework comprising of three core elements–Space, Time and Action (STA), the framework captures core elements and the interactional effects of these elements in any business scenario. Leaders and managers invariably have to exercise choices at the interface or one or more of these elements, to sustain and grow their business. Alok K Sinha lucidly explains each of the framework's components from a vast set of real-life case studies, including his own direct and observed leadership and managerial experiences. The inner workings of success or indeed failures of choices exercised by business leaders and managers are analysed reflectively through the lens of this, bringing to life the power of the organising framework. An engaging read, theoretically informed and reflexively presented. A must-read for existing and aspiring leaders!format_quote

Distilled from decades of Sinha’s pragmatic business experience, reinventing enterprise after enterprise, this book is not for the faint-hearted. It’s the missing manual for CXOs who want to understand the reasons their growth strategies are faltering and how to reinvigorate them.format_quote

Alok has hit the nail on the head! The future demands an entirely new approach to strategic thinking – and MUST be multi-dimensional, multi- faceted and exponential! This does not mean it is devoid of structure ... quite the opposite; in fact, he offers us a comprehensive, relevant and structured way to synthesize the complex forces shaping our future world. It is crucial for leaders to comprehend the interdependencies between a wide range of forces that impact on our future choices and options. More importantly, how these can be used to create optionality and market differentiation. This is a valuable and important contribution to our future relevance toolkit!format_quote
